Do you know about molecular sieves? And do you know the different types and applications of it? As a molecular sieve supplier, I would like to introduce you to these.
Molecular sieves are metallic aluminosilicate crystals with a three-dimensional interconnected tetrahedral network of silica and alumina. A molecular sieve is a material with uniformly sized pores (very small holes). These pores are similar in size to small molecules, so that large molecules cannot enter or be adsorbed, while small molecules can. As the molecular mixture migrates through a fixed bed of porous semi-solid material called a sieve (or matrix), the highest molecular weight components leave the bed first, followed by progressively smaller molecules. Some molecular sieves are used in size-exclusion chromatography, a separation technique that classifies molecules based on their size. Other molecular sieves are used as desiccants, some examples include activated carbon and silica gel.
There are four main variants of molecular sieves; each has a different pore size, depending on the chemical formula of the zeolite chosen. They also have different applications.
1. Drying of unsaturated hydrocarbons (e.g. ethylene, propylene, butadiene)
2. Drying of cracked gases.
3. Drying of natural gas, if Cos minimization is necessary or if a minimum co-adsorption of hydrocarbons is required.
4. Drying of highly polar compounds, such as methanol and ethanol.
5. Drying of liquid alcohols.
6. Static (non-regenerative) dehydration of insulating glass units, either air-filled or gas-filled.
7. Drying of CNG
1.Drying of natural gas, LPG air inert gas and atmospheric gas etc. and removal of CO
2. 2. Removal of hydrocarbon ammonia and methanol from gas streams (ammonia co-gas treatment)
3. Special types are used in gas breakers for buses, trucks and locomotives.
4. Packed in sachet, it can be used simply as packing desiccant.
1. The strong ionic force of divalent calcium ions makes it an excellent adsorbent for removing water, C02, and H2S from acidic natural gas streams while minimizing the formation of Cos. Mild thiols can also be adsorbed.
2. Separation of normal and isomeric paraffins.
3. Produce high purity N2, 02, H2 and inert gases from mixed gas streams.
4. 4. Static (non-regenerative) dehydration of hollow glass units, either air filled or gas filled.
1. Removal of CO2 and water from air (air pre-purification) and other gases
2. Separation of oxygen enriched from air
3.Removal of ortho chain components from aromatics
4.Removal of R SH and H2S from hydrocarbon liquid streams (L PG butane, etc.)
5. Catalyst protection and removal of oxygen-containing substances from hydrocarbons (olefin streams)
6. Production of large amounts of oxygen in PSA plants
